Biography

Dan recently completed his Master of Arts (Writing) at Swinburne University with a focus on writing for stage and screen. His final project, the play “Meeka” went on to enjoy a successful season at fortyfivedownstairs in 2016 - a co-production with renown Melbourne theatre company Hoy Polloy and the company he co-founded, The Act-O-Matic 3000. He won Best Direction, Best Screenplay and The Screen Producer’s Association of Australia (SPAA) Award for Excellence for “Unky Doom”, his graduating film from Murdoch University at the WA Film and Television Institute’s Screen Awards last century. Dan was also surprised to win an admission from his tutor who said he’d marked the film too harshly. Walls’ more recent short films ‘No Getting Away’, ‘Last Seen Alive’ and ‘For Your Safety’ have featured in short film festivals around the world. They have received screenings in Indonesia, Australia, UK, Italy, Greece, Serbia, India and the USA - notably at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
