Judge agreement

1. 1

   Your role

You are volunteering as a judge for the AFIN International Film Festival (AFIN). The role is unpaid, and it creates no employment, partnership or other relationship, and no entitlement beyond what this agreement says.

2. 2

   Confidentiality

Everything you see and do as a judge is confidential: the entries, your scores and comments, other judges' views, the panel's deliberations and the results before AFIN announces them. You will not discuss or share any of it with anyone outside the AFIN judging panel, during or after the festival, and you will not post about it. AFIN announces every result itself.

3. 3

   The entries

You will use screener links and passwords only to judge, never share them, and never download, copy, record or keep any entry.

4. 4

   Conflicts of interest

You will not judge any work in which you held a creative or decision-making role. You will tell AFIN as soon as you know of any connection with an entry or its makers that could affect your judgement, or appear to, and AFIN may reassign it.

5. 5

   Judging fairly

You will judge each entry on its merit, in line with the AFIN Judging Guide, and score what is on the screen or the page, not who made it.

6. 6

   Your name, image and biography

You agree that AFIN may use your name, photograph, biography and judging role to present the panel and promote the festival, on its website, social media, publications and at its events, during your time as a judge and in the festival's record afterwards.

7. 7

   Footage and photographs

Photographs, video and the livestream of AFIN events that include you belong to AFIN, and AFIN may use them for the festival as it sees fit. If you would like a clip or photo of your own appearance, just ask and we'll share what we can.

8. 8

   Ending the role

Either you or AFIN may end your role at any time. The confidentiality and conflict-of-interest terms continue after it ends.

How judging works is in the AFIN Judging Guide.
