Most people who reach this page were nominated by AFIN and never heard from us, because somebody else entered their film and we only hold that person’s address. It is a gap in what we know, not a judgement about your work, and it is fixable.
Below is a step-by-step guide for every button in our letters and every part of your account, with pictures of the screens you will meet. The questions we hear most are further down.

The questions we hear most
-
I was nominated and never got an email from AFIN
That is our gap, not yours. We can only write to the address on the submission, and for most films that address belongs to whoever entered it rather than to you. Find your own page on the site and tell us it is you: a person here checks it and writes to you.
-
Somebody else entered my film
That is the normal case, not a mistake. A producer, a school, a sales agent or one of your collaborators entered it, so the festival holds their address and not yours. Two things can happen: they can pass your details to us, or you can tell us yourself from your page.
-
I am in the cast or crew, not the nominee
Your page is still yours. AFIN keeps a page for everyone credited on a film it has screened or recognised, whatever the role. If the person who entered the film has an AFIN account they can invite you directly; if not, tell us from your own page.
-
A credit on a film is wrong
Tell us and we will correct the record. The archive is built from what was submitted, so a missing or mistaken credit usually means the submission said so, and it is ours to fix rather than yours to live with.
-
My film’s details need changing
A synopsis, a statement, a trailer, a poster or stills can all be updated by the people who hold the project, once they have an AFIN account. Everything is reviewed by a person before it reaches the site. If you hold an account already, it is in Your projects.
-
I would rather just talk to somebody
A person reads everything that comes in, and replies. There is no queue system and no form you have to fill in twice.
Telling us a page is yours does not sign you in and does not change the page. A person at AFIN checks it and writes to you.
Something on the site is broken
Not about your page or your film, but the site itself: a page that will not load, a button that does nothing, a video that will not play. Tell us and a person here reads it.
