Biography
THEATRE (1979 -2019): Married a Playschool presenter and went on the road after a year of presenting junior and highschool shows promoting careers in theatre. ROLES: Actor. Props & Masks. Co- & solo-writer of all our material for children. Later I adapted & directed kids' threatre works by other NZers. (1984~85) Most recently I've dabbled in improv, dinner/murder mysteries, and producing a steampunk-style music video
2023~24 I collabs with a muso/theatre-tech to revive my major stage-show “Edgetown” - combining comedy, retro-science fiction, and music from the 1950s/60s. “EDGETOWN” the screenplay is based on my 2018 book of the same name [SEE AWARDS]
MARCH 2024 Dan & I put on a Teaser-version called “Roadmap to Edgetown” ROLE: Writer/Producer/Director. See it here: https://youtu.be/jBBY6wTfsDs
SCREENPLAYS: Ironically, My first book “TimeTwister” (1986) started as a TV-Pilot that caught the attention of a TV producer and effectively launched my book career. “TimeTwister” is now a Feature-script in early pre-production!

From the Judges, on Goodbye Ted
Visual storytelling drives the screenplay, letting household objects and small acts of ritual carry a whole arc of reclamation. Its tonal balance of black comedy and quiet drama pairs with tight, purposeful pacing to turn a near-wordless montage into a cinematic and emotionally resonant piece of short-form writing.
