From the Judges, on 80 FACES OF FREEDOM (2025)

From the Judges, on 80 FACES OF FREEDOM

A work of witness that gathers first-hand accounts of war and the gratitude carried long afterward, this short holds its subject with a simplicity the panel found genuinely powerful. They responded to the portraiture, faces photographed with such care that each frame tells a quiet story of its own, and to the interplay of period images and new. The structure drew admiration too, personal testimony braided with a subtle score and well-chosen music that carries real emotional weight.

Curated, anonymised highlights drawn from the judges' notes.
