From the Judges, on My Soul To Take (2022)

From the Judges, on My Soul To Take

A dark fantasy about the pull of our validation-hungry digital lives, this short conjures its unease with real assurance. The panel found it hypnotic, strongly made, and sure-footed in its pacing, a clever allegory for the modern age that lands its intent. They admired how the production design carries the emotional arc, drawing the eye from a cold, joyless apartment into the warmth of memory lane.

Curated, anonymised highlights drawn from the judges' notes.
