From the Judges, on Mother of Apostles (2022)

From the Judges, on Mother of Apostles

An emotionally riveting take on war that leaves you moved, following the archetypal Mother into conflict and carrying you along on her journey. The panel found the world of the film convincingly real, from the military hardware to a full plane crash site built for the screen, and it was struck by how assuredly the whole production was mounted and shot. The performances landed as believable and congruent throughout, with the lead carrying the film's heartbreaking themes and its unflinching view of war.

Curated, anonymised highlights drawn from the judges' notes.
