Biography

Samuel Lucas Allen (they/them) is a unique voice emerging from a generation in turmoil, fearless in their willingness to confront urgent social, political and environmental issues with uncompromising passion and cinematic flair. An award-winning emerging filmmaker with a MA in Directing from NIDA (Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art), Samuel Lucas Allen has been nominated for a Robin Anderson Film Award, a London Director Award, Best Director at Sanford International Film Festival, Best Music Video and Best Experimental at the ATOM Awards, Best Director at CinefestOz and won Best Short Director at the Kansas Arthouse Film Festival and Best Short Film Fiction at the Buenos Aires International Film Festival. Their latest film, 'Misery and Other Choices', is currently a Finalist at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.
