From the Judges, on SEEK (四十九)

It struck the panel as a fun mix of the spy and ninja genres, carried by fight choreography that drew consistent admiration. They responded to the production design and the locations, large and intimidating spaces lit with a darkness that gives the whole film a threatening charge, and to camerawork and lighting that stay locked in with the action. The score won praise too, alongside the film's many affectionate nods to classic Japanese martial-arts cinema.

Curated, anonymised highlights drawn from the judges' notes.
