An android tracing questions of human culture across a hazardous Mars gives this animation room to breathe, its production design and cinematography rendered with a smooth, elite command of the frame that the panel found genuinely mind-blowing. They admired it as an original, ambitious piece of science fiction, its philosophical themes about existence and purpose carried by richly imagined worldbuilding and an immersive score. This short reads as visually masterful filmmaking of a kind rarely seen in the form.
