A Note from the Writers

IN BAD COMPANY is a rare and real preview into the surreptitious lifestyle of the Outlaw Motorcycle fraternity told uniquely from a women's perspective. The story does not glamorise the club life. Still, it demonstrates the carnage in the aftermath of war where families pay the ultimate price and are the real victims devastated by senseless acts of violence. Inspired by actual events and written by someone from inside the outlaw life, the real names of the clubs or their members are not used. The story has moved away from them to what are now universal truths about this culture. The writer is passionate about this film and with support from inside the club has attempted to do justice to the people involved and so has maintained the integrity of the story itself. The motivation is to make aware that it is the lives of wives, parents and children who are devastated by senseless acts of men. It is imperative to make the characters and the world they live in reality, and authentic. The film is a compelling drama with an intense climax, it cannot be contrived and bleak, but it must be raw, real & balanced. In Bad Company follows a three-act structure with the family and the influences being set up from the start, the 2nd act shows conflict both within the group and how those close can set off a path to destruction, with the 3rd act being quite a powerful realisation of those tensions as much as a resolution. The central character is Max; and the audience will follow her journey most closely, though the groups that surround her family tend to be a powerful draw of the focus.
