Synopsis

A War of Souls is an hour-long young adult, fantasy and science fiction drama series. The show is set on board an international space vessel carrying millions of humans named The Wanderer.

While otherworldly backdrops offer expansive scenery and the mysteries of the unknown, the main tension and intrigue originates from within the confines of the advanced floating city. Trying not to be devoured by an uncertain fate, the show follows an ensemble cast as they navigate relationships and reality. Confronted by the soul connections as they attempt to clear the shadows and discover hidden truths, the story arc follows questioning whether they should follow their hearts or their heads.

After one of their leaders is murdered, seemingly unrelated individuals chosen by the deceased must work together to uncover the mysteries of the ship. As they seek clarity, one gentle tug sets in motion a reveal far bigger than they imagined. After the group discovers the heart of the ship is organic and scavenged by humans from an ancient site on Earth, an obscure concealed cube becomes the centre of their universe. Starting as essentially strangers, they must work together to expose the rouge sect of people who are willing to stop them from finding answers at any means necessary.

Over eight episodes, The Six each take turns in the spotlight with flashbacks allowing the audience to learn more about the main characters. The secrets they are concealing are exposed one by one until the climax of realising their roles as guardians of an ancient power.

The priority of A War of Souls is on substance over spectacle; relatable people in a fantastical situation reacting like humans in gritty, surreal circumstances.
