Synopsis

LOGLINE A gang of bank robbers are forced to give up more than just their booty when trying to escape the clutches of the law.

SYNOPSIS A gang of bank robbers are fleeing a heist with the cops in hot pursuit.

Pulling into a car lot to switch vehicles a security guard presents them with an opportunity to give their pursuers the slip. With the police closing in they've little choice but to play along, even though it appears they may be heading towards an equally perilous predicament.

Finding temporary shelter inside a dingy, labyrinth-like building they begin to realise the opportunity is not at all what they’d expected. The building turns out to be a nightclub and the gang have been mistaken for the next act on the bill: an all-male dance troupe. But matters get worse as they learn the event is none other than the National Police Women's’ Association Annual Ball.

With uniformed officers now searching the venue, the gang are forced to chose between imminent capture or letting it all hang-out in front of a room full of intoxicated policewomen.

The gang take to the stage in an attempt to put on the show of their lives. Things start off badly but some timely invention turns the audience around. The gang are almost enjoying themselves when the penny drops for one of the pursuing officers and he attempts to make an onstage arrest. Pandemonium ensues as the gang distribute bags of stolen cash into the audience in a last-ditch bid for freedom.

Amongst the mayhem the gang make it out of the venue and back to the car park where it seems their luck has finally run out. Trapped between a police car and a delirious mob of lustful women they take the safest path and attempt to surrender to the officer.

But freedom is ensured as the vehicle has been commandeered by one of their own and, naked and penniless, they flee into the night.

AO Alexander Osman Writer

I'm a UK based writer & director with experience of drama and brand/corporate filmmaking. My films have been shown all over the world from St. Petersburg to San Fransisco. I've seen success this year with my dark comedy, thriller: The Knowledge, which premiered at BIFFF in Brussels, Horror Hounds in the USA and Morbido in Mexico. As I work on a feature-length version I'm looking to follow up with another short and am excited to make Sunset Strip. Past credits as writer/director include the drama 'Beneath the Surface', shown at Kinsale, IFF Berlin and Edinburgh’s fringe and the docudrama 'This Little Place in Gospel Oak', recognised at The London Independent Film Festival and Open City Doc Fest. I've also written and directed films for a range of brands and organisations including Jaguar Land Rover, Visit Britain, Rolls-Royce Motors, Emirates, Monotype, CRH, Channel Four and 1000 Londoners. I have a Masters degree from Saint Martins College of Art and enjoyed previous commercial success as a Music Producer, Designer and Creative Director.
