Synopsis

A lonely young boy faces his nightmare to then awake stronger. The story is the second chapter of a series of shorts titled “UNLINKED”, depicting solitude from different points of view. Kicking The Sky pictures the mind of a young boy, Tim, who dwells in fear of not being seen. His nightmare is expressed with long shadows which come to life and become his only friends. Tim plays with them, acting out what he is unable to do in real life.

Director's Statement

Lara Genovese, filmmaker portrait provided to AFIN.

The short experiments with the idea of making a live action version of short animations with no real dialogue. The target is to create a touching story with strong coloured visuals and 80s references, and to outline social topics through a fantastical and absurd setting. Chapter I and III of the trilogy have been written but need the funding to be made.
