Director's Biography
Zoe Loftowski Director
Zoe Loftowski is the pen name of Gretchen Somerfeld, a writer-director-producer of five award-winning short films (P.A., Café, Hair, Careful What You Wish For and The Leap), several of which have sold to Arté, the BBC, and the A&E Network. A graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Gretchen has worked in the film industry in Hollywood, New York, and Paris in various capacities, from executive producer to script supervisor to still photographer. She was recently the recipient of The Writers Lab/Meryl Streep honor, as well as two Alfred P. Sloan grants, for her feature screenplay on actress/inventor Hedy Lamarr entitled Secret Weapon - to be financed by Goldcrest Films.
