Synopsis
After the breakdown of his marriage and business, an Australian beef farmer attempts to mend his life and relationship with his daughter.
Troy is a gruff and rugged beef farmer from regional Australia, attempting to mend his life after his wife has left and taken their young daughter. Things are looking up for Troy after a scheduled visitation from his daughter, until his wife tells him that they intend to move away to the coast. Drunk, desperate, and having flashbacks to his violent past, Troy attempts to commit suicide, but in the end is saved by his daughter.
Writer's Statement
This story subverts the symbol of the masculine farmer, the ultimate Australian hero, by examining the realities of life for some regional families, which can in ways be as harsh as their environment.
