From the Judges, on THE LAIR (2023)

From the Judges, on THE LAIR

Pure popcorn pleasure was the reaction here: a horror thrill ride that commits to its own sense of fun and never lets up. The subterranean lair, with all its scientific experimentation, drew real enthusiasm from the panel, as did the sound design and costuming that give that world its texture. Running through it all is a streak of humour and unabashed joy in the playing.

From the Judges, on The Reckoning (2020)

From the Judges, on The Reckoning

A feature that looks hard at real-world issues and refuses to soften them, this one leaves a mark. The panel came away struck by how real it felt, praising the assurance of the direction and the confidence of the opening scenes, and the performances landed with a force that stayed with them. It reads as filmmaking made for a big screen and a wide audience.
