Biography
Cristóbal Krusen was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. He majored in English Literature at Harvard University, intent on making his mark as a poet and novelist. A growing interest in photography and filmmaking, however, led him to transfer to New York University where he changed majors and graduated with a BFA in Film and Television in 1976. He later attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California where he received his MFA in Film in 1989. Cristóbal’s filmmaking career began in New York City following graduation from NYU. He has since worked as a writer/director of feature film and television for more than thirty years, helming numerous productions overseas. He is best known for the award-winning films Final Solution, More Than Dreams, ¿Con Quién Te Vas?, Undaunted, and Sabina K. He is currently completing Let Me Have My Son, due for a fall release in 2022. Working in multiple languages, Cristóbal is known for a poetic cinematic style, and the ability to draw intense and intimate performances from actors, including amateur actors. His film work has been recognized at major film festivals in North America, Australia, South Africa, Tanzania, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Netherlands, India, Switzerland and Cuba.
