From the Judges, on MONDAY MOURNING (2024)

From the Judges, on MONDAY MOURNING

A short that leaves its mark, holding you in an intimate two-hander where much of the story is told physically and visually rather than through dialogue. Both leads drew warm praise for carrying that, and the panel found the cinematography and lighting beautifully judged, with costume and production design of a piece. It struck them how clearly the characters were defined through situation and emotion, held by dramatic, well-paced writing.

Curated, anonymised highlights drawn from the judges' notes.
