From the Judges, on The Nine Lives
Set in a locked-down city where one man's descent through a sealed high-rise becomes a wider act of public resistance, the screenplay carries a clean formal engine and forward motion that never loses its emotional bearings. The panel found the quiet rests between the action just as resonant as the choreography, and admired how private love ripples outward into a moral awakening the whole story earns.
