An original score and a real curiosity about birdlife carry this documentary, which packs a surprising amount into a small running time and finds variety in its camerawork across studio and landscape alike. The two central subjects speak with an off-the-cuff, unrehearsed warmth that the direction supports beautifully, and their long friendship comes through on screen with charm and authenticity. A wholesome, sincere piece about shared passion and time spent in nature, and simply a joy to watch.
