Biography

William Jackson, director of Gone, is a Perth-based filmmaker with a strong interest in fiction-narrative film. In 2017, William began a Bachelor’s in Screen Arts at Curtin University of Technology. Emerging from a photography background, William began working on films as a Cinematographer. Developing his skills in this field, William freelanced as a videographer during his tenure at Curtin University. Landing work with the clothing brand Coercion Collective, William filmed and edited videos to promote their seasonal products of 2020. Whilst in production for Gone, William helped develop a location story for Noongar Dandjoo commemorating the late football legend, Graham ‘Polly’ Farmer. In April of 2020, William wrote and directed a short film titled Where Do You Want to Go for the Perth 24-hour Film Competition taking home 1st place. William is keen to continue directing larger projects and grow further into the creative film industry.
