Synopsis
Riot in the Meadow is a poetic documentary about the life of artist Vicky Hawkins, former assistant to Iconic 1960s fine artist Bridget Riley.
Featuring and narrated by Actress/Author Roberta Taylor (EastEnders) (Luther) (Viceroys House) and (Shakespeare and Hathaway). We visit Vicky's art exhibition and meet some of her friends at her art studio.
Riot in the Meadow is the name of a poem and also the title Vicky borrowed for her latest art exhibition. It incorporates the vibrant colours she uses in her work, using "A riot of colour" but also Vicky explains how the meaning of the poem encapsulates her philosophy of life, love and death.
Director's Statement
Riot in the Meadow is a film I directed with South African editor Zane Dedlow and music composer Ant Survila. Filmed in East and South London England. At Vicky Hawkins Art Show in Oxford House East London and her Art Studio in South London.

Thomas Harman Director
My name's Thomas Harman and I'm a London UK based Independent Director and specialist in Drama and Arts with Television and Film experience. Brighton Rocks International Film Festival 2022 Winner and Misty Moon International Film Festival 2022 Winner with nominations at Unrestricted View Film Festival 2022 and Australia's AFIN International Film Festival 2022. I graduated with a BA Honours in Televison Production associated to Screen Skills at Middlesex University with back to back wins for Best Film including the Jury Award held at BFI Southbank.
