Synopsis

A woman in mourning is taken on a journey through her memories to find closure.

Director's Statement

Kayley Atkinson, filmmaker portrait provided to AFIN.

Lament was created throughout the 48 Hour Film Project. This film is proof that when having an amazing cast and crew, that it is possible to form art in a short period of time. Lament was formed from my own personal experience with my own grief. I wanted to share the story that sometimes we don't get to tell the ones we love, that we love them. When losing someone we love, we tend to imagine a world where we do get to say goodbye or regret what we didn't say. I wanted people to know that their not alone throughout that pain, because grief is the price we pay for love and to find the beauty within that.
