Synopsis
After being abandoned in a remote forest, a neurodivergent boy stumbles upon a derelict cabin and uses its dusty CB radio to make contact with a stranded man on Lake Superior. What begins as a cry for help becomes a lifeline between two lost souls who must work together to survive the night.

The premise is clever and clearly drawn, the structure holds firm, and the dialogue rings true, including the voice of a child character. Callie Currence Writer
Callie Currence (formerly LeClaire) is a Korean-American screenwriter from Minnesota whose work blends grounded emotion with a flair for the unsettling. Her debut short screenplay, Over and Out - a tender, storm-soaked survival story about connection and neurodivergence - hit #1 on Coverfly’s Short Screenplay list and held a spot on the Red List. It has since earned multiple honors, including a WorldFest-Houston Platinum Remi Award, Best Short Screenplay from the Reale Film Festival, and the Film Crash award for Dramatic Short Screenplay.
Callie’s writing is known for its emotional honesty, sharp genre instincts, and characters who live with one foot in the real world and one in the dark. Whether she’s exploring horror, psychological drama, or offbeat romance, her stories often center on survival, grief, and what it means to be seen for who you truly are. She’s been recognized as a finalist in the Shore Scripts Short Film Fund, the Rhode Island International Film Festival, and was runner-up in the Minnesota Film Fest Pitch Competition.
Her goal? To write stories that unsettle you and stay with you long after the lights turn back on.
