Synopsis
In the heart of the immigrant experience, Alma, a determined Mexican mother, struggles to reconcile her hopes for her son’s future with Toño's passion for playing the piano. Her hesitancy toward his artistic path ignites a deep conflict, leading to a pivotal moment where Toño performs an original piece in front of a large audience. This poignant story of resilience and transformation highlights the journey of a mother learning to trust her son's dreams and the courage to embrace change.
Director's Statement
Virtuoso was written in the summer of 2023 and has become the most promising project of my career to date. The story was inspired by friends, family, and my own experiences, reflecting the shared hardships of pursuing an unconventional passion in the arts. I am incredibly grateful to have worked with such a phenomenal cast and crew, who brought this heartfelt story to life. I also extend my deepest thanks to the generous individuals who believed in our vision and supported us by allowing us to film in their locations. Their trust and kindness made this project possible.

Alex Correa Director
Alex Correa is a 24-year-old director and cinematographer with a passion for storytelling. His journey in film and theatre arts began at the age of 14, culminating in the completion of his first short film at just 15. Since then, Alex has continued to create meaningful projects with friends and family, fueled by a deep admiration for the dream of making films for a living.
