Biography

Jeffrey Milne resides in Brisbane, Australia. A former media professional with additional management type roles in entertainment business operations. An interest in producing podcasts lead to writing, directing and producing an audio fiction thriller drama podcast in 2020, 'The Last Stand Down', an adaptation in collaboration with its author. The podcast series was broadcast across the U.K. and Ireland on Podcast Radio and is now available on Audible. This writing experience led to the screenplays Millions in Manila (currently in talks with a Producer in Thailand) and A Bushranger's Curse, his AFIN 2024 screenplay. Current project in progress is titled 'Andaman Sea Ambush' with other screenplays in early development.

From the Judges, on A BUSHRANGER'S CURSE

Characterisation carries this screenplay, with figures who each hold their own distinct individuality and a back-and-forth between protagonist and antagonist that humanises both within their own narratives. The world building is detailed and clearly well researched, catching the texture of Australian gold rush life, and themes of love, money, loss, hope and revenge run right through it. It reads as an Australian Western with the reach to belong on the big screen.
