Millions in Manila

Synopsis

Inspired by true events, a highly trained airline safety instructor becomes stuck in Manila after losing his contract, but is then hired by a shady organization as security to assist in recovering rich asset collections, hidden since the 1940s war-years. He falls deep into the dangerous corrupt underworld that also involves U.S. Intelligence and a crime gang also chasing the missing millions.

Writer's Biography

JM Jeffrey Milne Writer

Jeffrey Milne, resides in Brisbane, Australia. After spending most of his working life in media related roles and a business position with a leading major theatre company, he became interested in theatre productions before returning to radio in a training role mentoring broadcasters and young journalists for a national current affairs program. His interest in crime investigations, DNA and forensic genealogical technology lead to audio fiction thriller podcasts. Through self-education he began creating and developing stories into screenplays. In 2020, he wrote, directed and produced an eight-part audio fiction thriller podcast, ‘The Last Stand Down’ adapted from a novel in collaboration with its author. The thriller audio podcast was later broadcast on London’s Podcast Radio as a ‘Special’. The story was based in London, but voiced by Australian actors. Shortly afterwards, he began working on Millions in Manila, another story inspired by true events along with the development of other projects including a new TV Crime Investigation Procedural Pilot and an Australian-based Western/Drama set in the 1860s Goldfields. My goal in 2023 is to advance to the top of writing comps.
