Synopsis
An immigrant nurse comes across a boy from an East L.A. neighborhood who wants to be an astronaut. Their lives intertwine across three different time-lines where each outcome of their fate depends on forces beyond their control.
Director's Statement
Is the outcome of our life predetermined or is it the sum of our choices? Questions like this have been entertaining the human mind for centuries and they have always led to exciting and debatable subjects. I wanted to create a story around this overwhelming concept by utilizing the resources that Los Angeles naturally offers. From immigrant experiences, to gritty neighborhoods and gang territories, my goal with Maze of Fate was to select random moments of life, and present those moments in a way to liberate the mind from decadence. Thanks to my experiences of growing up in a war, I felt comfortable to venture into the city’s most dangerous areas. The result is a visually entertaining, emotionally challenging yet ironic depiction of lives, that intertwine in the city that was built on dreams.

Director's Biography
Attila Korosi Director
The experiences I gained by growing up in a war taught me invaluable communicational and problem solving skills. While studying Accounting at the University of Tulsa, I took writing classes taught by the Nobel-prize nominated poet, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, who further opened my eyes to creative possibilities. When I set out to make Maze of Fate, instead of going the traditional filmmaking route, I decided to become a cab driver. This profession exposed me to a never before seen Los Angeles and it introduced me to a variety of characters. I met gang members and ex-gang members turned actors who went out of their way to help me make this film happen. Maze of Fate was made possible thanks to the life risking events and to the generous people who responded to a curious and unyielding heart.
