Director's Biography

Tevin Everett, filmmaker portrait provided to AFIN. Tevin Everett Director

Tevin Everett is an African American filmmaker from Wilmington, Delaware, born on October 3, 1991. After serving as an intelligence specialist in the Navy for 8 years, Tevin moved to Los Angeles where he wrote his first screenplay called The Helper. After writing several screenplays for TV shows and feature films, Tevin made his directorial debut in January 2020 with his short film The Don't Call List. Tevin’s latest project, Diversity Hires, calls out America’s hiring practices when it comes to people of colour. A growing filmmaker, he wants to show people that there are many different ways to make oneself heard. If there is anything that his film career has taught him so far, it is the realization that one need not conform to society’s standards to find happiness. Tevin plans to write, direct, and produce several more socially relevant TV shows and films in the future to inspire people like himself to tell their original stories.
