Synopsis
A former Olympic athlete and "recovered" heroine user gives an addiction recovery group more than they bargained for.
Director's Statement
Telling Mark Campbell's story in Rostrum provided a unique opportunity to unpack the character's psyche - all within a single scene. In doing so, I got to explore deeply personal questions about society's response to those in a cycle of manipulation. Shane Emmett's performance in the lead role is truly a tour-de-force, coming off the back of his appearances in well-known Australian television shows and feature films, including Rush, Strife and Offspring.

Daniel Kuberek Director
Daniel Kuberek brings his journalism background into his storytelling, seeking to better understand the human condition. Rostrum marks his return to the director’s role (Are They Really OK?, The Book), having spent the last few years producing a feature film, web-series and TVC’s (Everything I Am, Young Jobseekers, Do Good Hooligans).
